RAM accomplishes its mission by operating mobile clinics, which offer a combination of dental, vision, and medical services to underserved and uninsured individuals, as well as disaster response and veterinary programs.
Remote Area Medical's Media Relations Coordinator will work under the direction of the Marketing Manager to manage all media outlets, press, and public relations.
They will create and manage press releases and journalistic activities, while assisting department in social media, photography and creation of compelling content for RAM's multimedia outlets to best grow RAM's mission, message and brand.
Job Responsibilities In collaboration with the Marketing Manager, manage, create, and schedule marketing responsibilities Media Outreach Proactively identify and target relevant media outlets based on organizational goals and operational needs Craft and distribute press releases, media advisories and pitches Coordinate interview schedules with media and RAM Staff - both in person and virtually Monitor media coverage and respond to inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
Track media coverage and analyze its impact and reach Measure success of media outreach and continue to improve media relationships while staying updated on current media trends and best practices Serve as primary contact with Community Host Groups Content Capture/Creation In addition to creation of press releases, aid in creation of media kits and other materials Travel to clinics to assist with capture of content for RAM's bi-annual magazine, newsletters, website, blog, social media, YouTube and various other outlets Document RAM's work through narratives, photography, and videography as needed Other Duties Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure RAM's success.
Ensure all assignments, content and designs are approved by the Marketing Manager before releasing to other internal departments and the public Assist the Marketing Manager in a variety of projects as needed.
Communicate closely with the Marketing Manager on all department activities Requirements Bachelor Degree, preferably with a concentration in public relations, communications or journalism 2-4 years of relevant experience, and/or agency experience.
Ability to learn and understand various industries quickly.
Proven work experience in media relations Possess a strong understanding of the Associated Press Style Guide Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to express ideas clearly and confidently.
An ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines Creative storytelling; Excellent writing, editing, presentation and communication skills Consistently demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
Willingness and ability to travel and work nonconventional work hours, especially on weekends.
Physical Requirements Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time Must be able to lift 20lbs.
Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive RAM vehicles Must be proficient in verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills Job Type:
